Quaker Valley's Boys Soccer team won the PIAA 2A state championship in 2017 as they defeated Lancaster Mennonite 3-2. Antonio Brown (5) is sitting below the PIAA trophy, underneath the soccer ball of the trophy.

There are a lot of famous NFL players that are well known like, Julio Jones, AJ Green, Tom Brady, Aaron Donald and Mike Evans. Now, you might not be surprised that someone else in Los Angeles has the name of "Aaron Donald", just like the Los Angeles Rams football player, Aaron Donald. You might also not be surprised that someone else in Tampa Bay is named "Mike Evans", just like the Tampa Bay Buccaneer football player, Mike Evans.

Well, I want all of you in Pittsburgh to know that there are at least 2 people in Pittsburgh that are named "Antonio Brown". The "Antonio Brown" that you probably know is the "Antonio Brown" that is the wide receiver for the professional football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The other "Antonio Brown" in Pittsburgh is currently a high school senior that attends Quaker Valley High School in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania. Antonio plays both soccer and basketball as he has been playing both sports since his freshman year of high school. He is also a WPIAL champion (2016) and a PIAA state champion (2017) in the sport of soccer. When Antonio was a sophomore in 2016, Quaker Valley's Boys soccer team played in the PIAA 2A championship game; but, they lost to Lewisburg by a score of 1-0. Antonio is known for playing defense in soccer. Antonio could have been a 2x WPIAL champion if Quaker Valley's Boys basketball team could have beaten New Castle in the WPIAL 4A championship game; but, Quaker lost to New Castle by a score of 57-52.

This soccer season, Antonio tried to help win Quaker Valley another WPIAL championship in soccer and they got to play in the WPIAL 2A championship game against Shady Side Academy for the third year in a row. Unfortunately, the Quakers lost to Shady Side Academy by a score of 2-1 as they lost in the penalty kick round by a score of 3-0. The upsetting part of that game was that Quaker Valley was winning 1-0 with 37 seconds left to go in the game and then all of a sudden Shady Side Academy soccer player, Kenny Shergill, decided to score a goal to tie the game at 1-1. That's how Quaker Valley and Shady Side Academy got into the penalty kick round.

Also during this soccer season, Quaker Valley's Boys soccer team made the PIAA 2A playoffs. They defeated Westmont Hilltop by a score of 6-0 in the first round of the state playoffs; but, in the next round, the quarterfinals round, Quaker Valley lost to Deer Lakes by a score of 2-1. That's how Antonio Brown's high school soccer career at Quaker Valley ended.

Antonio still has a chance to be a 2x WPIAL champion as he has one more season of high school basketball to play at Quaker Valley. Quaker Valley's Boys basketball team is trying to win a WPIAL championship this year as they will have to try and win it without their star players Alex Skowron, Ricky Guss and Coletrane Washington. Those three good players graduated last year. Even though the basketball team lost to New Castle in the WPIAL Finals last year, they still made a big run in the state playoffs as the team was one win away from playing in the PIAA 4A Boys basketball championship game. They lost in the semi-finals round to Sharon by a score of 65-48. If New Castle would have defeated Sharon in the quarterfinals round of the PIAA 4A Boys basketball playoffs, last year, they would have played Quaker Valley in the semi-finals round and that would have been a good and fun game to watch.

Put yourself in Antonio Brown's shoes, imagine everybody asking you what your name is and you have to say "Antonio Brown", like that is pretty cool. I wonder if Antonio has an actual Pittsburgh Steeler "Antonio Brown" jersey. That would be pretty lit if he did. I also, wonder if Pittsburgh Steeler, Antonio Brown, has met anyone else in the world with the same name as him. If he has not than we, as a WPIAL community, should try to get both Antonio Brown of Quaker Valley and Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers to meet with each other and have lunch together or something like that.
