D-Rose: Chapter 3

The 2009 NBA Rookie of The Year and The 2011 NBA MVP is about to be playing a smaller role on a better team. Throughout D-Rose's basketball career a lot of the spotlight has been focused on him. When he was playing for the Memphis Tigers in college he was doing so well leading the team that he got them all the way to the championship game but unfortunately they lost to the Kansas Jayhawks.

Then when he went to the NBA and became a star immediately with the Chicago Bulls. He lead the Bulls to the Eastern Confernece Finals in 2011 but lost to King James and Miami which meant the Bulls would not be going to The Finals. In the first round of the 2012 NBA playoffs the Bulls were playing the Philadelphia 76ers and during Game 1 of the series Rose tore his ACL in his left knee which would result in the Bulls losing to the 76ers in the series and him missing the whole 2012-13 NBA season.

He would have so many more injuries on his knees while he was with the Bulls that a lot of the media would wonder if he would ever be that 2011 MVP Derrick Rose again that we all knew and love. He has felt pressured throughout his whole tender with the Bulls that no one really gave him time to recover and everyone wanted him to heal right away so they would have a chance to go to the Finals. Then when Rose pushed himself to get back on the court even if he knew he wasn't ready he got back on the court and injured himself some more. A lot of us feel that if Derrick Rose was healthy during all four years that LeBron was in Miami that the Bulls would have gone to the Finals at least once because of how well the Bulls were doing in 2010-11.

In 2016 Derrick got traded to the New York Knicks and had a very good season last year averaging 18 points a game. This offseason D-Rose became a free agent and decided to sign with the Cleveland Cavailers. For D-Rose this was a great decision. Even though he is not getting paid a lot for next season he gets to play with one of the best in LeBron James. Assuming that Kyrie Irving will not get traded he will still start at the point guard position and Derrick Rose will come off the bench.

For the first time in Derrick's professional basketball career he will not have to face all that pressure he had to face when he was with the Bulls and Knicks. Maybe with Rose coming off the bench he can learn and watch more of how LeBron and Kyrie play and how they don't get injured while they play. Hopefully someday D-Rose can win a title that he's been trying so hard to win.
