Ovechkin = Carmelo

Alexander Ovechkin and Carmelo Anthony have some things in common in their professional sports careers. The one thing they both don't have in common though is that they both play different sports. Carmelo plays basketball and Alexander plays hockey.

Alexander and Carmelo were both drafted high in their draft classes. Alexander was drafted first in the 2004 NHL Draft and Carmelo was drafted third in the 2003 NBA Draft. They both weigh 240 pounds so if they ever fought each other in a fight it would be fair because they would both be in the same weight class. Don't worry though they're not going to fight.

They are both really good athletes in the sports they play but their always seems to be someone else in the sport they both play that seems to be slightly better and gets more attention. Also their both Captains on the teams they play. Ovechkin is the Captain for the Washington Capitals and Carmelo is the Captain for the New York Knicks. They have both almost played in the same amount of All Star games. Carmelo has been selected to play the NBA All Star game 10 times and Ovechkin has been selected to play the NHL All Star game 11 times.

But you know what they both have in common that is terrible? It's that they have never been to the Finals in the sport they both play in. Ovechkin has never played in the Stanley Cup Finals and Carmelo has never played in the NBA Finals. Better yet Ovechkin has never played in the Conference Finals.

Both of these players should go to the Hall Of Fame no matter if they win any championships in their career or not but something needs to be done to have both of these players to either get to the Finals in the sport they play and even win a championship. I have watched these dudes play for a long time and they both play at high levels in the sport they play. If someone told me that Ovechkin is the best player in the NHL right now and Carmelo is the best player in the NBA right now I could understand why they would say that because they have so much skill in the sport they play it's tremendous. Every year Carmelo always seems to be efficient from the 3 point range and Ovechkin always seems to shoot one of the fastest slap shots in the NHL.

We all know if Carmelo wants to win a championship that he needs to find a way to get out of New York but for Ovechkin their is possibly not a way for him to leave Washington until 2021. If Ovechkin doesn't get to the Stanley Cup Finals in the next two years he should really just leave Washington. I can see Ovechkin being the next ELITE athlete to leave a team that all the fans love and go to another team that always wins and beats him like when Kevin Durant went to Golden State. But if Carmelo and Ovechkin don't win a championship soon they'll starting thinking to themselves if they really did have good careers. It would be honestly sad if those two dominant athletes don't get themeselves a championship.
