Who Could Be The One?

No matter what happens this preseason it looks like Blake Bortles will be the starter again in Jacksonville. But let's take a minute and think to ourselves if he has really proved this preseason that he should be the starter.

The Jacksonville Jaguars played their second preseason yesterday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and lost 12-8. The Jaguars are however 1-1 this preseason as they defeated the New England Patriots last week. Let's take a look at the stats of all three Jacksonville Jaguars quarterbacks throughout the first two preseason games.

Stats Throughout The First Two Preseason Game For The Jaguars QB's:

1. Blake Bortles: 11/18 61.1% 81 yards

2. Chad Henne: 11/16 68.8% 183 yards 1TD

3. Brandon Allen: 15/22 68.2% 229 yards 2TD

As you can see all three quarterbacks have thrown almsot the same amount of pass attempts.

Brandon Allen has done so good in the first two preseason games. If Blake Bortles ever gets injured I would have a lot of confidence putting Brandon Allen in. Brandon Allen realizes that he is not going to get a lot of opportunities since he is the third string quarterback and all the opportunities he gets he is going to make use of them.

Blake Bortles might have a better statistical this year however because he can handoff the ball to a pretty good rookie running back in Leonard Fournette. Blake might not be trying so hard this preseason so he doesn't get hurt and have to miss some games in the regular season. You kind of have to feel bad for some of the Jaguars wide receivers because they're not good at catching Blake's balls. Remember yesterday when Blake under threw Allen Robinson after Allen smoked the defensive back that was pretty sad.

Even though Chad Henne has done okay this preseason he should definitely not start because it is known that whenever he plays more than 10 games in a season that he throws more interceptions than touchdowns.

Yesterday Brandon Allen started the game 8/8. He was so close to have a game winning touchdown but it didn't happen because Dede Westbrook dropped the ball late in the game with 1:31 left in the fourth quarter. Brandon Allen is capable to give the Jaguars a shot late in games because he does not turn the ball. I honestly believe if Blake Bortles was out there in the final two minutes he would throw at least one interception and have the Jaguars easily lose that game yesterday.

I would be alright if the Jaguars give Blake Bortles one more season to show that he is the true strater in Jacksonville but if he doesn't find a way to improve soon Brandon Allen might be the starter. But let's just see how well these quarterbacks do in the next two preseason games.
