Oh, It's Happening Sweetheart!

So what did you today? Perhaps you were at MLB Game or maybe you were just moving into college today or better yet you might be finishing to write your sports article that you have to finish writing for your newspaper company. You probably thought it was just another day. But then all of a sudden you look on your phone and you look at either your ESPN, NBA or Fox Sports app and see that the most craziest thing that has happened in the NBA for the past 10 years just happened. And that would be Kyrie Irving being traded to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Isaiah Thomas.

Today was a big W for both teams. No one expected the Cavs and Celtics to make a big trade with each other in the offseason especially since both teams are the best in the NBA Eastern Conference. Both Ante Žižić and Jae Crowder go to Cleveland as well in the Irving-Thomas deal. Well Kyrie got what he wanted and a trade. We all expect to see Kyrie to be the big man in Boston and make all the clutch plays. This trade is really good for Gordon Hayward because all of us is going to pay attention more to Kyrie Irving than Gordon Hayward. Gordon is going to feel less pressured now and Kyrie is going to feel more pressure as ever. The Celtics surprisingly didn't really have to give up much to get the elite point guard in Kyrie Irving since they still have Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, Al Horford and Jaylen Brown.

LeBron and Isaiah are going to enjoy each other a lot in Cleveland as they both are trying to win championships. Isaiah Thomas scored an average of 28.9 PPG last year. That was third in the league. Kyrie Irving on the other hand scored only 25.2 PPG last year and that was eleventh in the league. So now the Cavs have two players that both finished in The Top 8 in scoring last year. Isaiah Thomas had 30 more assists than Kyrie Irving did last year. Thomas had 448 assists and Irving had 418 assists last year. If Isaiah can help LeBron win another championship in Cleveland next year than LeBron might actually stay in Cleveland as he'll start to see he has a teammate who has the desire to win like him.

The thing that Isaiah Thomas and Kyrie Irving are both known for real well is making clutch plays. Isaiah made so many game winning shots throughout last season and that's why Boston finished first in the Eastern Conference and won so many games. We have seen Kyrie Irving make plays to win championships like he did in the 2016 NBA Finals in Game 7 against the Warriors with 53 seconds left to go in that game. Kyrie also had a game winning shot against the Warriors again this past Christmas. Isaiah Thomas will be a free agent in 2018 and Kyrie Irving will be a free agent in 2020 so the Celtics will have Kyrie longer than the Cavs will have with Isaiah. Unless Isaiah signs with the Cavs once he becomes a free agent. It's really hard to say who won this trade between the Cavs and Celtics but what we do know is that Kyrie and Isaiah will be happier on their new teams and make the best out of it.
