Let's Be Real Now
So we all know that Colin Kaepernick is not on an NFL team right now because he kneeled during the National Anthem and how it was part of his stance in how the citizens of the United States of America should have the right for freedom of expression and religion and all that but let's not pay attention to that. Let's pay attention to how he should be on an NFL team since their are some teams in the league that need a quarterback as soon as possible.
Colin Kaepernick was not bad last year. He threw for 16 touchdowns and only threw four interceptions in the 12 games he played last season. Here is a picture of the stats that Kaepernick was able to produce last year. These stats came from NFL.com.
As you can see their was not one game that Colin played last year where he threw more interceptions than touchdowns in a game. You see Colin was not the reason why that the 49ers were 2-14 last year. The 49ers were so bad because their big time key players were injured a lot last season like Torrey Smith, NaVorro Bowman, Carlos Hyde, Eric Reid and Quinton Patton. They basically had no backups that could really play their position well. The 49ers wide receiver Jeremy Kerley was obviously the best wide receiver for the team last year and when Jeremy Kerley is the only wide receiver making plays that's not really good for the whole 49ers team.
It's disappointing that Colin doesn't have a job right now because their are a lot of teams that have wide receivers and running backs but not a quarterback.
The Los Angeles Rams are one of those teams that need a quarterback. If Colin played for the Rams he would have two very good wide receivers like Tavon Austin and Sammy Watkins and have an elite running back in the backfield in Todd Gurley lll. I honestly don't think that Jared Goff is going to find a way to make the Rams great again.
The Houston Texans could use Kaepernick as well. The Texans just named Tom Savage their starting quarterback. But just because he has been alright this preseason doesn't mean he should be the starter. Tom Savage has not had a game at all this preseason that he has thrown for at least 100 yards. Better yet Tom Savage is still looking for his first professional touchdown in the regular season and playoffs. I honestly believe DeShaun Watson is better than Tom Savage and I honestly believe Colin Kapernick is better than DeShaun Watson and Tom Savage. Colin once again will have weapons in Houston as well with DeAndre Hopkins, Lamar Miller, Will Fuller and a very elite defense.
If Andrew Luck is still going to be out for the Indianapolis Colts once the regular season starts then the Colts might as well just tank because it does't look like Scott Tolzien or Stephen Morris can lead the Colts far in the regular season.
Luckily for the Baltimore Ravens Joe Flacco is back healthy because they don't have a backup quarterback that could lead the Ravens to victory if Joe Flacco got injured again.
But in reality Colin Kaepernick could go to any team and become the best backup quarterback in the league and even start for some of the teams in the NFL. So NFL franchises should think to themselves would they rather have a quarterback that is going to give the team a lot of attention even if it's bad and help the team become good again or have a quarterback that is trash and become a losing team with years to come and still make money but never win a championship.
