What Will McClutchen Do?
Andrew McCutchen has honestly been the most popular Pittsburgh Pirate and the best player for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the last nine seasons. As of today McCutchen has had a batting average of .291 in his career and has hit 198 homeruns in his career. McCutchen has been loyal to his ball club and shows no signs of leaving Pittsburgh.
McCutchen is now 30 years old and perhaps starting next season will begin his back 9 of his career. McCutchen wants to keep playing baseball and shows that whenever he gets injured that he gets better right away and gets back on the field.
McCutchen has been selected to the All Star Game five times in his career (2011-15) and was named National League MVP in 2013. McCutchen has been to the playoffs three times in his career (2013-15) and has never made it past the National League Division Series.
McCutchen has talked about how he wanted a contract extension two years and has told a local news station in Pittsburgh, WPXI, that he wants to be a Pirate for life. After this season McCutchen could be a free agent and could go wherever he wants to go.
What everybody need in Pittsburgh needs to know that if McCutchen decides to leave Pittsburgh cause he doesn't get the money he deserves then they shouldn't be mad. McCutchen has too much talent and deserves to win a World Series in his career. But you know what McCutchen probably will not go anywhere because McCutchen knows that the fans of Pittsburgh love him and he knows the role he plays in Pittsburgh.
Sometimes athletes don't care if they win a championship in the sport they play in. As long as they're playing the sport they love then feel like they already won a championship. I have to say though everybody who has played a sport at a professional level almost basically feels like they won a championship and McCutchen probably feels like he has won a championship by playing his favorite sport in baseball in the professional career.
McCutchen knows really what to do in his future in the MLB and he will make the right choice for him and his family.
