R.I.P Boston Celtics
Kyrie Irving and LeBron James greet each other while playing against each other earlier this year.
Just today the Boston Celtics announced that their star player Kyrie Irving will miss the rest of the regular season and post season due to his left knee injury that he had just has had surgery on.
This is a major blow for the Celtics as they now lose their best player that leads their team in PPG and APG. Irving scored an average of 24.4 points per game and averaged 5.1 assists per game. He scored 47 points this season in a game against the Dallas Mavericks in November. The Celtics now don't have Irving and Hayward the two guys the Celtics think would lead them to success this year.
Now the Celtics will still make the playoffs and win some games but it is going to be harder without Kyrie cause all the Celtics felt comfortable and knew their role while Kyrie is on the court but now that he has gone someone else is really going to need to step up and have the role of being the player making the tough plays in tough situations.
If the playoffs started today the Celtics would host the Washington Wizards and the Celtics seem to always find a way to beat them even before Irving came to the team. I think the Celtics sure wish they would have Isaiah Thomas back right now and I think a lot of you think that too.
The Celtics are going to need work hard to win games without Irving and I think without Irving out that the Celtics will become a stronger and all the rest of the players will play better in ways they never thought they could. I guess it would be alright if the Celtics don't go far in the playoffs because a lot of sportscasters and people I have talked to think that Boston will win a championship in a couple years and not just somehow win it this year.
If Irving and Hayward can come back healthy to start next season that would be great and who knows the Celtics might sign a player from free agency and give the Celtics more depth. I feel that in the future some player will be on the Celtics and a BIG 3 will be creates in Boston with Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward a part of it.
