2018 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Flyers vs. Penguins Series Preview

Are you hyped for this Penguins and Flyers playoff series as much as I am? The Flyers and the Penguins have not played a playoff series against each other since the 2012 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals when the Flyers won the series 4-2. Everytime these two teams play each other it gets intense and you know that something is going to happen. This is the first time in a while that both of these teams are almost equal in strength because lets admit that the Flyers were clearly better than the Penguins in the 2011-12 NHL season and they deserved to win that series against the Penguins.

Even though the Penguins have had their way against the Flyers this season by defeating them four times in the regular season that doesn't mean the Penguins can feel calm and relax cause they beat them already. The playoffs is a whole lot different than the regular season and the intensity is a whole lot different. Basically the Flyers and the Penguins start a whole new season as they start playing each other on Wednesday. I know their is going to be a big screen outside of PPG Paints Arena for the home games and I recommend Flyer fans not to attend those big screens. I feel that no matter where between Pittsburgh or Philadelphia their will be Penguins and Flyers fan having fist fights on the streets that nobody will break up and be super awesome.

What is nice for Penguins fans is that if their is a Game 5 it will be played on APRIL 20TH and it will be played at PPG Paints Arena which means a big screen will make an appearance that day. Penguins big screens are straight up lit no matter what day of the week it is and the fact that their might be one on April 20th is just plain out game over for the city of Pittsburgh. Their will probably be sleeping on the streets passed out because of how drunk they are and their will be so much alcohol and weed on the streets that day that I promise you it won't be funny.

I am pretty sure that the Pittsburgh Police hopes the series ends in 4 because I feel that Penguins fans will give the Pittsburgh Police some work to do and it won't be nice and calm and outside whatsoever.

Claude Giroux of the Flyers and Evgeni Malkin of the Penguins both finished in the top 4 with points scored as Giroux scored 102 points this regular season which was the second best in the NHL. Malkin scored 98 points which was the fourth best in the NHL. Giroux and other Flyers player Jakub Voracek both finished in the top 4 with assists.

The Flyers need to be aware of the Penguins powerplay as the Pens had the highest power play percentage with 26.2% so the Flyers should try to stay out of the box. The fact that these two teams still hate each other is so fun to watch and their will be a lot of fights in this series I think. Wayne Simmonds will try to get in the head of Penguins and he could be a big factor in helping the Flyers win the series. The series is going to be fun to watch.
