The Magic Show in Las Vegas

How about them Las Vegas Golden Knights? The Golden Knights are waiting to find out when they will play against the San Jose Sharks in Round 2 of the 2018 Stanley Cup playoffs. The fact that this is the Knights first year as a team in the NHL and have won the Pacific Division in the regular season is impressive and the fact that they swept the Los Angeles Kings in the first round of the playoffs is very impressive.

What you got to like about the Knights is that every single game a different person steps up and their team is not based on just a couple of superstars. The Knights scored a total of seven goals in their first four playoff games this season and all seven goals have been scored by seven different players. What does help for the Knights however is that they have a goaltender, Marc-Andre Fleury, that knows how to play at a high level and has experience in winning playoff games and winning Stanley Cups.

All four playoff games that the Knights played against the Kings they were all games that the Knights won by one goal. A lot of fans that were not Knights or Kings fans wished the series could have extended longer because all the games were so competitive that fans wanted to see more. The Kings are not a bad team it's just that the Knights played one shot better in each game and that made a difference.

If there was such a thing as an NHL Most Improved Player Of The Year Award William Karlsson, the Golden Knights Center, would win that award this year. Before Karlsson was selected by the Knights in the 2017 NHL expansion draft he played for the Blue Jackets and I had heard of him because the Blue Jackets always play the Penguins and when I first heard of his name in the 15-16 NHL season I thought he was related to Erik Karlsson of the Ottawa Senators but he is not. That man scored 78 points in the regular season this year which is crazy because he had 47 points all together in the previous three NHL regular seasons.

What I think that the Knights players are trying to prove to other NHL teams is that they were all so good and that the teams that lost their player feel bad that they didn't value their talent and skill as it should have been as now they are having success.

The Knights are such a great story to talk about this year that if they find a way to win the Stanley Cup this year they would probably go down as one of the greatest inaugural teams ever in NHL history.
