Dez Brown and Antonio Bryant, See What I Did There?
Yesterday, Antonio Brown tweeted that he wants former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant to come play with him in Pittsburgh.
This tweet has caused a lot of fans of the game of football to start thinking if it is a good idea if Dez goes to Pittsburgh and play with AB, JuJu Smith-Schuster and all the other wide receivers the Steelers have.
I was listening to Shannon Sharpe on Undisputed today and he did not like the idea of the Pittsburgh Steelers signing Dez Bryant. I am not sure whether I would like the Steelers signing Dez Bryant or not because the Steelers just simply do not need him because they have other good and productive wide receivers on the team. Antonio Brown plays like a flat out boss every single season, JuJu Smith-Schuster is a very good wide receiver that is under rated, Eli Rogers can catch deep balls down the field and I think James Washington can show he can be valuable to the Steelers as a number three or four wide receiver. Besides, the Steelers also have a very good tight end in Jesse James who can play in the slot. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has actually too many players to throw the football to and adding Dez Bryant is just straight up not necessary. Oh yeah, how could I forget that Ben can also throw the football to his star running back Le'Veon Bell.
Honestly, Dez Bryant should have signed with the Baltimore Ravens because Joe Flacco can use as many weapons around him on offense as possible. Dez should not be focused on his value. He should be focused on whether if he'll be on an NFL team or not next year. If Dez Bryant thinks he is going to Pittsburgh to be the productive wide receiver he was in Dallas that could be cool but I don't know how likely that could happen. But, perhaps there is a chance that Dez could go to Pittsburgh, not do much work, take less money and still be considered a Super Bowl champion. In 2015, Dez Bryant had a total of 401 receiving yards with the Cowboys as he was only limited to play 9 games during that season because of an injury. In 2016, he had a total of 796 receiving yards and in 2017 he had a total of 838 receiving yards. He was the number one wide receiver in Dallas in the past three NFL seasons putting up those numbers. If he wants to be the number three wide receiver in Pittsburgh I am not sure if he can get over 600 receiving yards. But, if Dez Bryant does not mind only playing when the Steelers offense is in the red zone then perhaps he can come off the bench and make a play or two.
Dez Bryant could go to Cleveland if he wants to. I am still a little confused if Cleveland really wanted to sign him or not. This is the point in the NFL offseason where Dez Bryant should just sign with whichever NFL team offers him money as it does not like he is in a part of his career where he can choose where he wants to play.
