The Story Of Never Giving Up

Senior running back Connor Barrett scored 2 touchdowns to lead Chartiers Valley to a 21-17 win over Armstrong on September 7th 2018.

The Chartiers Valley football team won a total of only 2 games last season in 2017 as they defeated Moon and Baldwin. They had an overall record of 2-8 last season and a lot of people in social media who cover the WPIAL did not consider CV to do well at all this season.

The Colts have already played 3 games in the 2018 WPIAL football season and their record is 2-1 with wins against Ringgold and Armstrong. The Colts were tremendous against Ringgold as they defeated them 48-0 in Week 0. But, then all of a sudden the following week in Week 1 the Colts got whooped by West Allegheny 41-7. Things started to look unfortunate for the Colts on Friday in Week 2 as they were losing to Armstrong 17-7 after 3 quarters. But, all of a sudden things started to look good for CV. Senior running back Connor Barrett rushed for 2 touchdowns in the 4th quarter against Armstrong and that was enough for the Colts to win the game 21-17.

What you had to take away from the CV and Armstrong game is you need to have faith, believe and never give up in order to win football games. Faith, Belief, and never giving up are aspects is what everybody should have in order to live and accomplish your dreams. CV's dream is to make the playoffs. In order for CV to accomplish that dream, they need to believe and have faith. And the game against Armstrong was just an example of what CV has to do to accomplish their dream.

Seriously though, how about Connor Barrett from Chartiers Valley? Barrett was a junior last year and rushed for only 296 yards last season. So far, in the first three games of this season Barrett has rushed for exactly 400 yards and has scored a total 6 touchdowns. Barrett already rushed for more yards this season than he did last season and he has an opportunity to rush for at least 1,000 yards this season.

We will see if Chartiers Valley can win more than 2 games this season. The Colts will play Norwin in Week 3. The Colts still also have to play Baldwin, Moon, Upper St. Clair, Woodland Hills, Peters Township and Bethel Park. Anything is possible and if the Colts believe and continue to have faith they will win more games and find a spot in the playoffs.
