2018-19 WPIAL Athlete Relatives

I think it would be interesting to see which current WPIAL athletes have relatives that happen to be famous. So, hers is a list of some of the WPIAL athletes, that are still in high school and participating in sports this year, that have relatives that are famous and well-known.

Famous Relative: Cade's dad is former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle, Chris Hoke.

Fun Fact: Chris Hoke has won 2 Super Bowls with the Steelers.

Name: Dino Tomlin

School: Shady Side Academy

Sport: Football and Track and Field

Grade: Senior

Famous Relative: Dino's dad is Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, Mike Tomlin.

Fun Fact: Mike Tomlin won a Super Bowl with the Steelers in the 2008-09 NFL season.

Name: Mason Tomlin

Famous Relative: Megan's brother is Philadelphia 76ers basketball player, T.J. McConnell.

Fun Fact: Both Megan and T.J. have won 1 WPIAL basketball championship in their high school basketball careers. Megan has two more years to win another WPIAL championship and pass her NBA star brother in that category.
