Claim To Fame: Will had 5 receptions for 168 yards, scored three touchdowns and had an interception in a 55-7 win over South Park.

Questions And Answers

What did you guys do right in the win over South Park?

Will Gipson: "We played together, did our jobs, even faced adversity and played through it; but, that’s weekly because of who we are."

Next week, you guys play Keystone Oaks at home. It's a big section game. They have a nice running back in Ezekiel M. Daure. What do you guys need to do to make sure he does not have his way against you guys?

WG: "Our starting defense hasn’t given up a touchdown yet this year and it plans to stay that way; but, he’s a good back we just have to do our job."

Why do you think Aliquippa has been good at football for the past 3 decades?

WG: "We do things differently than any other school. We have conditioning for 4 weeks straight and a week of camp right after it through those 5 weeks. It’s almost hell; but, our coaches mentally and physically prepare us for any situation."

Describe to me your relationship with your quarterback Eli Kosanovich.

WG: "We’ve been great friends for 10-11 years and our families are pretty close off the field. We’re friends; but, on the field I look at him as my leader this year though, I feel we’ve gotten closer because of our connection on the field."

You must get this question asked a lot. But, your father is the principal at Aliquippa High School. What's it like having a father being the principal at the school you attend?

WG: "Well as a student athlete, the most important thing is grades and I can never slack on my grades because he’s always watching and it’s good to have your father watching you 24/7."

Back in June, you announced that you will be attending Ball State University. When you visited there, what did you like about the school?

WG: "The lack of trouble in the environment, the way the coaches treated me, they were friendly and the team. I loved the energy the team had."

Which school do you think Aliquippa has the biggest rivalry against when it comes to sports?

WG: "Beaver Falls hands down, I don’t really know why there’s a rivalry. But, since I was 4, our parents and coaches embedded in our head that those were our top enemies."

Halloween is just around the corner. What is your favorite type of Halloween candy?

WG: "Not too many people know about these; but, the blue tootsie fruits."

What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?

WG: "I’m like almost the greatest Fortnite player in the world."
