Claim To Fame: Early in the second quarter, North Hills was losing 7-0 to Shaler. Then , Tyler decided to take over the game as he scored 3 rushing touchdowns for North Hills to give them a 21-7 win. North Hills improved their section record to 5-1 and they improved their overall record to 6-3.

Questions And Answers

What did you guys do right in the win over Shaler?

Tyler Brennan: "We had control of the game. We are a running team, which allows us to hold on to the ball and have long successful drives. I believe we had the ball 33 minutes to their 15."

You guys play Penn Hills next week at home. They have not lost a single game at all this season. What do you guys need to do give them their first loss of the season?

TB: "We need to play North Hills football. North Hills football means toughness. We have a history of knocking off top teams by playing that way. A lot of people remember when Martorelli Stadium had 10,000 people packed in to watch us knock of North Allegheny to win a section title in 2011. We talked about having that mentality into this week."

Describe to me the football culture at North Hills.

TB: "Our stadium was built on toughness of college football great; one of them being Lavar Arrington. We are not always the biggest strongest or fastest; but, everyone knows our culture of tough kids who don’t give up. I wouldn’t want to play at any other stadium; best atmosphere in the WPIAL."

Do you have any superstitions, or anything you have to do before games?

TB: "I eat chicken parm, watch college football highlights, save a seat for my grandparents, then pray and ask god and my best friend who died of cancer to look over me."

What’s your ideal football weather?

TB: "55 degrees, clear skies with the lights shining down."

How excited are you for basketball season to start again?

TB: "I’m excited because a lot of my best friends play on the team; but I am focused on football at the moment."

Which school do you think North Hills has the biggest rivalry against when it comes to sports?

TB: "North Allegheny or Pine Richland."

Which college football team is your favorite?

TB: "Penn State, no if ands or buts."

You will graduate from North Hills in 2019. How or what do you want people to remember you by when you graduate?

TB: "I want to be remembered as a nice person. No one remembers how many touchdowns you had; they remember how you treated them."

What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?

TB: "I'm very creative and enjoy drawing."
