When You Research, You Learn New Things
Source: John McArdle IV (HUDL)
John McArdle IV is known as the kicker and the punter for the West Allegheny Indians football team. John just finished his senior season of playing football as his team was one win away from winning in the WPIAL 5A Football Championship game. West Allegheny lost to Penn Hills in the 2018 WPIAL 5A Football Championship game by a score of 28-18. The game was played at Norwin High School.
This football season, McArdle IV scored 8 field goals and converted 36 extra pointers. He attended the Kohl's Football Kicking and Punting Camp National Scholarship Camp in July of 2018. Some of the best kickers and punters in the nation attend that camp. McArdle IV only played high school football in his junior and senior year; but, I bet he must have had a lot of fun in the past two years. John was the backup kicker for former West Allegheny kicker, Kolbe Stout, in his junior year. John also played soccer for West Allegheny in his freshman and sophomore year of high school. There is a chance that John might have offers from colleges to continue his football career due to the talent he has kicking the football.
What you might have known about John McArdle IV is that he is on the Boys Bowling team at West Allegheny High School. Just this year, John decided that he wanted to play for the team. That's good for him because it gave him a chance to do something new in his senior year of high school. This season, John has started all four matches that West Allegheny has played. In the 12 games that McArdle IV has bowled, he has hit a total of 1468 pins which means his average is 122.3. The highest game that he is bowled during this season is 149 and the highest 3-game series that he is bowled during this season is 424. The team's current record is 0-4. With John participating on the team and being a full-time starter, this season, he will get a Varsity letter. So, that means that John can have a letter in football and bowling on his West Allegheny Varsity jacket.
If you know how to do math, you know that having 2 Varsity letters in two different sports is better than having 1 Varsity letter in one sport. John is an athlete that wished that he could have been playing on the West Allegheny football team since his freshman year and he has to be happy that he has gotten attention this season for his talents as a kicker and a punter.
