Woodland Hills basketball player, senior Keandre Bowles, and Houston Rockets basketball player, James Harden, have one thing in common. They are both the superstar on their respected teams and they both are reliable and consistent each and every single game they play.

The Woodland Hills Boys basketball team currently has an overall record of 10-3 going into today. Yesterday, Woodland Hills lost to Bethel Park by a score of 81-74 in the MLK Weekend Showcase tournament at Woodland Hills's new gym. Tonight, Woodland Hills will play another game in the MLK Weekend Showcase tournament against Central Catholic, tonight, at 8PM ET at Woodland Hills's new gym.

Going into today, Keandre Bowles has played all 13 games for Woodland Hills and out of those 13 games, he has been averaging 29.2 points per game. Last year, Woodland Hills had a superstar basketball player in Amante Britt, who now plays college basketball at the NCAA Division 2 level at Slippery Rock University. Bowles played alongside Britt and they were both able to make some noise as they were one game away from playing in the WPIAL 6A championship game. With Britt out of high school, Bowles decided he needed to step up and he sure has done that.

This season, Bowles has to be considered one of the best Boys basketball players in the WPIAL. Woodland Hills has other basketball players on the team that can produce make plays like their quarterback, Gavin Judson. Markelle Harvey, Markeife Harvey, Tre'Mon Josey can have been key contributors for the team. What everyone on the team knows is that this is Keandre's team and they all trust him knowing what it takes to win games.

Woody High lost on the road to Penn Hills on Tuesday by a score of 79-57 and they are looking above Penn Hills in the section right now; but, that doesn't bother Woody High as they will have a rematch against Penn Hills on February 8th and the game will be played at Woodland Hills. Woody High has lost three games and besides the Penn Hills loss, they lost to Lincoln Park by a score of 76-71 and they lost yesterday to Bethel Park by a 7 points. Woody High definitely would have liked to have those losses back; but, they know that they just to have keep playing their game and if they do, they can see themselves in the Petersen Events Center in March.

Okay, let's talk about how good Keandre Bowles really is. Keandre really showed how clutch he is by a scoring a game winning 3-point shot against Fox Chapel on December 11th 2018 and it was awesome to watch because one of the Fox Chapel's players stuck their hand right in front of his face and he was still able to make it. Keandre scored a total of 35 points in the game. If you watch some of his highlights, you can tell when he shoots the ball that he is not afraid that he is going to hit when he shoots. It seems that every time he shoots the ball, it's like he is ready to get contacted by the opposing team's player and it shows how tough he is. Like, there have been multiple instances that Keandre gets contacted big time when he shoots the ball or drives to the basket and he is still able to score. It's simply fun to watch. He is very good at playing in transition.

Keandre is only listed as 6'3"; but, he looks so much taller when he is on the court because of the way he dunks the basketball. There are times that I think if the WPIAL did a slam dunk contest, he would be one of the finalists because of how creative he is with the basketball.

This will be Keandre's last year or last chance to try to win a WPIAL or PIAA Boys basketball to Woodland Hills. Will he be able to lead his to the "Promise Land"? Well, you'll just have to keep watching Woodland Hills basketball games to find out.
