The Question For Keandre Bowles

Keandre Bowles was nothing but spectacular for the 2018-19 Woodland Hills Boys Basketball team as he led his team and the WPIAL in points per game (at the end of the regular season) with 29.3. Keandre was part of this year's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Boys Basketball Fab 5 as that was announced on April 7th. Keandre joined Donovan Johnson (Moon), Jackson Blaufeld (Taylor Allderdice), Ethan Morton (Butler), and Dan Petcash (Pine-Richland) in receiving that honor.

Back in the 2017-18 WPIAL basketball season, one of Keandre's teammate at Woodland Hills was Amante Britt, who now plays college basketball at Slippery Rock. Last year, Britt was part of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Boys Basketball Fab 5. Britt was a big part of that 17-18 Woodland Hills basketball team as he helped lead the team to the WPIAL 6A Boys Basketball semifinals game in which the team lost to Pine-Richland by a score of 65-61.

Keandre knew that with Britt leaving that he needed to helped lead the team in the 18-19 season and that is exactly what he did. I don't know if you noticed this or not; but, almost every single game Keandre played he was mentioned in the newspaper (like the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette or TRIB LIVE HSSN) the next day. Keandre was the player that everybody had to keep talking about this season. More people knew about Keandre, this season, than they did the year before.

I would not be surprised if more students from other schools in Keandre's grade started to recognize him in public because of how much he is mentioned in the media and because of his basketball skills.

Keandre helped the team this season by leading the team to the playoffs with a 9-3 section record as they finished second in their section (WPIAL Class 5A Section 1) behind Penn Hills who had a section record of 12-0. Woodland Hills won their first playoff game against West Allegheny by a score of 69-60 and lost their second playoff game against Chartiers Valley by a score of 62-49. Keandre surpassed 1,000 points this season and he scored a game winning 3-point basket against Fox Chapel back in December.

Keandre made a big name for himself in his senior season of high school basketball. So, the question is, “We’ll we see Keandre in a basketball uniform in college? Back on January 6th 2019, Keandre received an offer from Shippensburg University (NCAA Division 2 Basketball School) as he tweeted it out on his Twitter page.

This is the only offer that Keandre tweeted about on his Twitter page; but, he might have had offers from other schools that he decided to not post about on social media. If he decides to play at Shippensburg University, one of his teammates would be Mars basketball player Senior Andrew Recchia. Recchia scored a game winning 3-point shot against Moon in the WPIAL 5A championship game back on March 1st 2019 and is known as a 2x WPIAL Boys Basketball champion.

One of the things that stands out about Keandre is the fact that he dunks like an NBA player. If the WPIAL had a slam dunk contest, I would not be surprised if Keandre would win that contest because of the way he is able to dunk a basketball. Another thing that stands out about him is the way that he can score from anywhere on the court. That man has the capability to make crazy and impossible shots that it is stunning.

Out of all of the senior WPIAL basketball players from this season, I think most people would be interested to see where Bowles ends up in college as I bet he wants to continue playing on the basketball court and showing people how hard he has worked to play basketball at a high level.
