Isiah Warfield was ranked fifth, in Boys basketball in the WPIAL, in points per game last season for the Sewickley Academy Panthers as he averaged 25.5 points per game and scored a whopping total of 509 points altogether. Warfield is known as one of the big time players in the WPIAL as he was a big reason why Sewickley Academy made it to the WPIAL 2A Boys basketball semifinals and to the PIAA 2A Boys basketball playoffs.

Warfield could only do so much for Sewickley Academy as in that WPIAL semifinals game against Serra Catholic, he scored 38 of Sewickley Academy's 47 points. Sewickley Academy would lose that game 57-49 as Serra Catholic's Jayden Bristol and Jimmy Moon just got the best against the Panthers. The Panthers lost in the first round of the PIAA 2A Boys basketball playoffs against a school called Ridgway Area by a score of 60-51.

Warfield has already committed to play Men's NCAA Division 1 basketball at Liberty University which is located in Virginia. You might have heard of that college before as they played in the NCAA Division Men's Division 1 basketball tournament this past season as they defeated Mississippi State in the Round of 64, but lost to Virginia Tech in the Round of 32. We might see Warfield go to "The Big Dance" in the future with Liberty University.

Before we see Warfield play at the college level, we need to see him play his senior year of high school basketball and it is not going to be at Sewickley Academy. Just yesterday, the TRIB LIVE HSSN, wrote an article about how Warfield decided to leave Sewickley Academy and play his senior year of basketball in the school district that he lives in which is Central Valley.

In an interview with the TRIB LIVE HSSN, Warfield's dad talked about his son transferring. “It wasn’t a decision about athletics. It was a family decision,” said Warfield's dad.

I think a lot of people could agree with Warfield's dad because last season the Central Valley's Boys basketball team had a section record of 4-8 and an overall record of 7-14 as they did not make the playoffs and finished second to last in their section. Yeah, Warfield is not transferring to a better basketball school. But who knows what can happen? Maybe, Warfield can turn that Central Valley team around and lead them to the playoffs. It would be nice for Central Valley knowing that they will have one of the best shooters in the WPIAL next season.

I bet you'll see a lot more people go to Central Valley basketball games next seasons and you'll see more of the media talk about Central Valley Boys basketball next season because of Warfield and the question of if he can lead that team to the playoffs. Like, Central Valley will be talked about a lot next year no matter if they do good or bad because of Warfield being in there lineup. Warfield will have to play teams in his section such as Quaker Valley and the defending WPIAL 4A champions, New Castle, next season. So, you know that Warfield will have to play really good teams and he'll have to figure out a way for Central Valley to beat them.

Warfield is a 2x WPIAL basketball champion that is looking to win another WPIAL championship before he graduates high school and he would probably love to win another one in his home school district, Central Valley. Whether you like it or not, Warfield is now a Central Valley Warrior and his transfer has made WPIAL sports more fun to watch and gives the media a good story to write about.
