In the 21 regular season games that Danny Conlan played last year for Quaker Valley's Boys basketball team, he scored a total of 351 points and averaged over 16 points per game.
Danny Conlan is a big reason that Quaker Valley Boys basketball is becoming more popular. The man was a hard worker that came out to compete every single game. To this day, I think to myself about how Danny Conlan and the rest of the Quaker Valley Quakers lost to New Castle in the WPIAL 4A Boys basketball championship game for three straight years.
That's right, for the past three seasons Quaker Valley's Boys basketball team has lost to New Castle in the WPIAL 4A Boys basketball championship game. Danny Conlan has never won a WPIAL or PIAA Boys basketball championship and you just simply must feel bad for him and the rest of the Quakers.
Conlan is not the most talked about player in the media; even though I think him and his former teammate, Ryan Stowers, should have been mentioned more during their time in high school. However, Conlan has helped build Quaker Valley's Boys basketball team to a playoff contention team for years to come. Conlan had played so well during his time at Quaker Valley that he has helped made sure that Quaker Valley Boys basketball head coach, Mike Mastroianni, will keep his job for however long he wants to keep it for. The only way Mastroianni would stop coaching for the Quakers is if he simply decides to quit. Quaker Valley's school board has no reason to fire Mastroianni in the future due to the amount of success he has brought to the team.
Conlan finished his high school career with 1,252 points that he is placed 5th all-time in Quaker Valley's Boys basketball with points scored. He was a part of a 2019 Quaker Valley Boys basketball graduating class that went 94-18 in the past four years. That is the most wins ever by a Quaker Valley graduating class.
Conlan will play NCAA Division 3 Men's basketball at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. He has had one great career at Quaker Valley and even though that his team could not win a WPIAL championship, he will be remembered as someone who always worked hard and help win a lot of games.
