Logan Summerhill scored 20 points in Franklin Regional's 89-59 loss against Pine-Richland. With Franklin Regional losing nine seniors from the 2019 class, this is a new Panthers team that we are watching. Pine-Richland has now won in back to back days as Logan Murray scored 20 points for the Rams in this game.
North Hills has won in back to back days as yesterday, they defeated Central Catholic and today they defeated Keystone Oaks by a score of 81-47.
Bethel Park Boys Basketball players, Ryan Meis and Tommy DiRenzo, combined for 41 points as they defeated Gateway by a score of 67-61. Bethel Park's overall record is now 5-2.
Central Catholic, shockingly, defeated Mt. Lebanon by a score of 61-56. For the Blue Devils, Jake Hoffman scored 22 points while Blaine Gartley scored 20 points. Ben Sarson scored 20 points for Central Catholic as this was lowkey such a nice non-section win for the Vikings.
Billy DeShields scored 23 points for Uniontown as they lost today to Penn-Trafford by a score of 70-66. The game was extended into overtime as Penn-Trafford outscored Uniontown 6-2 in overtime. This was the first loss of the season for Uniontown.
Moon has dropped losses in back to back days as they lost to South Fayette on Friday and they lost to Beaver Falls, today, by a score of 51-48.
Washington High remains undefeated as they defeated Trinity by as score of 77-72. Dylan King scored 29 points for the Hillers while Brandon Patterson scored 23 points for the Prexies.
Deer Lakes has started off slowly in conference play. Last year, their section record was 10-2. So far this season, their section record is 0-2. However, the Lancers had a nice 40-37 win over Armstrong today.
Isiah Warfield and the rest of the Central Valley Warriors smacked Hampton by a score of 70-47. Warfield scored 16 points in the game as he helped end Hampton's 3-game winning streak. Hampton's overall record is 4-3 and all three of their losses have been to non-section opponents.
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Boys Basketball players, Jake DiMichele and Dante Spadafora combined for 46 points to defeat Beaver by a score of 65-41. I am being serious when I say that this Chargers team has a chance to be undefeated in the regular season. The Chargers overall record is now 7-0 as they have won in back to back days. This season, DiMichele and Spadafora have to be considered one of the best duos in WPIAL Boys Basketball. You could compare this duo to an NBA duo like Anthony Davis/LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard/Paul George, or James Harden/Russell Westbrook.
Aliquippa has now won in back to back days as well. They defeated Cornell today by a score of 63-58.
Carlynton High School and Bishop Canevin High School separate each other by only 9 minutes. These two schools played against each other today as the Crusaders won by a score of 56-55. Bishop Canevin outscored Carlynton 11-10 in overtime. Chauncie Mickens and DeQuay Canton combined for 37 points for Carlynton. The Crusaders are on a roll as they have won four straight games.
