2021 CTA WPIAL Football 2A Championship Player of the Game:Machai Brooks-Dutrieuille(Serra Catholic)
This past Friday, Serra Catholic football player Machai Brooks-Dutrieuille held the WPIAL 2A Football Championship in the locker room after his team defeated Beaver Falls 35-12 at Heinz Field.

STUD ALERT: This past Friday, Serra Catholic defeated Beaver Falls 35-12 in the WPIAL 2A Football Championship Game. It's the team's first WPIAL title since 1998. Eagles football player Machai Brooks-Dutrieuille carried the ball 22 times, recorded 94 rushing yards and scored two touchdowns. On top of that great rushing game that Brooks-Dutrieuille had, the Serra Catholic defense forced nine turnovers in the game.

You are now a WPIAL champion. How did you feel after beating Beaver Falls on Friday in a meaningful game?
Machai Brooks-Dutrieuille: It felt amazing it and it proved to me that dreams come true!
Your defense caused nine turnovers in the game. How much of an impact do you think that had on the game?
MBD: A lot of it.
How did you celebrate after the win?
MBD: I celebrated very happily with my coaches and teammates.
Your team will travel to Slippery Rock University on Friday in the PIAA AA Football Semifinals against Farrell. What do you think your team has to do to win that game?
MBD: We have to do our job on both sides of the ball and execute as a team in order to pull off with the win.
Head coach Jose Regus seems to be a coach that doesn't get as much recognition and credit that he deserves. As one of his players, what's it like having him as a coach?
MBD: Having him as a coach is a blessing. He is a very good leader and head coach.
So, with your team's state championship run continuing, what do you think a state title would mean to you, your team, and your school?
MBD: We would get the credit that everyone is taking from us.
Serra Catholic is obviously known as a private school. Whichever school district you live in would have liked you on their football team making plays. What school district would you have played football at if you didn't attend Serra Catholic?
MBD: Woodland Hills
Tell me an NFL player that you admire or like to watch film on.
MBD: Jonathan Taylor [Running back for the Indianapolis Colts]
If you could own any animal as a pet, which animal would you choose?
MBD: A gorilla
What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?
MBD: My height [5'6"] and weight [170 lbs.].
