CTA's Day 11 Of Quarantine With Beaver Falls Josh Hough

Check out Josh Hough: Josh is a junior at Beaver Falls High School and currently plays on the football team. He plays both linebacker and running back. This past WPIAL and PIAA football season, 2019, Josh helped Beaver Falls make it to the WPIAL 3A football playoffs. The postseason run was not long as Beaver Falls lost in the first round, the Quarterfinals round, against Derry by a score of 28-27. Also, this past season, Josh rushed for 1,273 yards, scored 18 touchdowns, and recorded 11 receptions for 165 yards. Hough, one of the highly recruited football players in the Class of 2021, has offers from NCAA Division I schools such as the University of Pittsburgh, Eastern Kentucky University, Duquesne University, Syracuse University, Central Michigan University, William & Mary University, and others.


Questions & Answers:

What have you been doing during this COVID-19 crisis?

Josh Hough: "I've been working out at home and at the field by myself, online school work and a few video games."


You have been making headlines recently for getting an offer from the University of Pittsburgh. How has the recruiting process been for you?

JH: "It has been exciting! I’m really enjoying the process."


So, how did you get into football?

JH: "My dad signed me up when I was 5, I have been in love with the game ever since."


Your team lost to Derry in the Quarterfinals round of the WPIAL Class 3A Playoffs last season, What did your team learn after that loss? JH: "We learned as a team that success can disappear in a matter of plays, and what we need to improve to dominate next year."


What would you say are Beaver Falls goals for next football season?

JH: "The goal is a championship and to grow as a team."


Describe to me the football culture at Beaver Falls and what it provides.

JH: "Beaver Falls is a football town, we have great support from our community. As a team the support makes a huge difference."


What TV show could you binge watch for hours?

JH: "Rick and Morty"


A lot of high school students, such as yourself, start to get their driver's license around their junior year. They also start about thinking about having their own car. So, I'm wondering, what would your dream car be?

JH: "A Bugatti"


What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?

JH: "I’m a totally different person off the field. I’m more laid back, and I can be shy around a lot of people."
