Questions and Answers

How did it feel beating Montour and having your team win a section game for the first time since 2017?

"It felt amazing, I can’t lie. Coming out this season with a big win over a team, that has been our rivals since we were eight years old, was the best way to start out this year.

How did you celebrate that win?

I went back home with [Anthony] Mackey and had some steaks.

Can you believe that your senior season is actually happening?

I’ve been waiting for this year since I was six years old, but now that I am here, it’s hard to imagine that this is my last year wearing a Colts jersey with the boys.

So far, what would you say is the biggest difference between last year's Colts team and this year's Colts team?

Our team this year has a lot more passion. Me and a couple of my other teammates would wake up at 5 a.m., meet up at the school, and workout for an hour before school. That’s never happened before, and I think that made us realize that now is the last year to make a statement. Everyone was working over quarantine to perfect their craft and now it’s time to show off all we did.

What is a typical practice day like for you?

Jordy [Jordan Demus] throws some music on and once that first song plays, we hit the field and start to go to work. Every day, we bring energy and that’s the biggest difference from last year.

Without giving away any secrets, what does your team need to do to beat South Fayette on Friday?

We need effort. It’s going to be a four-quarter war, we got to come out fighting all night.

So, are you excited to be playing South Fayette in football for the first time in your high school career, especially since they are like 10 minutes away from each other?

Yes, they’ve always been rivals growing up. There have been lots of conversations over who would win at the high school level and now is the time to find out.

You’re in the mood for fast food. Where are you going and what are you getting?

McDonalds, and I’m for sure getting two large fries and a Coke.

AND FINALLY

What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?

Going into freshman year I was 5’6” 112 lbs and I had intentions on quitting football. I remember going to the high school cafeteria and selling Philly Pretzels and Coach Knause came up to me and said, "What do you mean you’re not playing?" Then before I knew it, he talked me into playing and I’ll forever thank him for that.
