Questions & Answers
Up to this point, what has been your favorite high school memory?
Darius Bruce: I would have to say walking into the school and seeing a moral of me on the wall, that meant a lot to me. It really showed the appreciation of all that I have done for the school.
Tell me the impact that DeWayne Brown has had on in you in your football training at Evolve?
DB: D Brown is just always trying to find a way to look out or help someone out. I know he put out a few calls for me. As far as working out, D Brown tries to push everyone and bring the most out of you.
Are you excited to play in the NFBD All Star game on June 6?
DB: I am extremely excited. I really feel like this is a statement game, especially for a competitive spirit like mine. It's time to turn non-believers into believers.
During your time on Westinghouse's football team, was there a specific team that you wished your team would have played?
DB: Probably Woodland Hills, it’s always talked about amongst people on social media. I have a few buddies that go there that need a "city wake up call".
Ok, where is your go-to place to eat?
DB: Probably TGI Friday's, not because there food is the best, but mainly because I used to go there all the time with my pops, sister and brother. It’s more like a family thing.
The first round of the NBA playoffs is going to begin soon. Who do you think will win this year's championship?
DB: I believe there’s only one real answer to this, "NETS IN FOUR!".
If you could meet anyone in the world, who would it be?
DB: Kevin Hart, he’s just mad funny, and I get compared to him a lot. Even though he jokes around, he still gets business done, but has fun with it. I feel like that’s what it’s really all about.
What was one of your favorite classes that you took while at Westinghouse?
DB: Civics
What do you think you will miss the most about high school?
DB: The vibe, I feel like you can only get that vibe if you go to the school. Looking from the outside, it gives you a whole different picture then from the inside.
What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?
DB: People would probably be surprised to know that I can actually sing a little bit, and that I can also cook.
