The Commitments are about to happen

For anyone that likes WPIAL football, then this is a good time to keep up to tabs on what is going on in "WPIAL Football Land". Recently, many WPIAL football players are either committing to schools, announcing their lists of top schools or announcing offers that they recently received. This past week, there has been so much news involving WPIAL football recruitment that it would only be right for all of you to see a summary of what has been going on.


The Summary:


1. West Mifflin Defensive End Nahki Johnson received an offer from Louisiana State University on July 12, 2020. Johnson committed to the University of Pittsburgh over a year ago on June 25, 2019. He did not post offers from any other schools until yesterday.


2. As of July 11, 2020, Central Catholic Defensive Tackle Elliot Donald is looking for someone to make a commitment video. This could be an indication that he is looking for someone to make his recruitment video. Elliot is the nephew of Los Angeles Rams Defensive Tackle and 2x NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Aaron Donald. Back on August 26, 2019, Elliot listed his Top 8 colleges which involved schools such as the University of Pittsburgh (where is uncle Aaron played college football), Penn State, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Louisiana State University, West Virginia, Notre Dame, and Michigan.

3. Peters Township Safety Donovan McMillon might be making his college decision tomorrow based on this tweet he tweeted out today. Back on June 1, 2020, he announced his list of Top 5 schools which are the University of Florida, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, and Oregon.

4. Just today, Avonworth Defensive End and Tight End Trevor Faulkner verbally committed to play Division I football at the United States Air Force Academy. He also received offers from Lehigh, Brown, Cornell, William & Mary, Bucknell, Duquesne, University of Pennsylvania, and others.

5. Just a little less than a week ago on July 6, 2020, Central Valley Wide Receiver Myles Walker announced his Top 4 schools which include Duquesne, New Hampshire, Kent State, and Akron.

6. At 7 p.m. EST tonight, Gateway football player Derrick Davis will announce his Top 7 of colleges that he is thinking about to play college football at. Davis has offers to play at a lot of FBS schools such as Clemson, Louisiana State University, Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, Alabama, Florida, Miami, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Syracuse, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and others.

7. Just last week on June 5, 2020, Central Valley quarterback Ameer Dudley announced his Top 9 list of schools that he is considering to play college football at. The colleges in his Top 9 list are Albany, Dartmouth, Harvard, Central Michigan, Army West Point, Lehigh, Colgate, Bethune-Cookman, and Duquesne.

8. Last Tuesday, South Fayette wide receiver Charley Rossi received an offer from one of his dream schools in Princeton University. Rossi also has a Division I offer from Sacred Heart University.

9. Also, just this past Tuesday, Neshannock Defensive End and Tight End Spencer Perry received an offer from Clarion University. He also has a Division I offer from Robert Morris University.

10. Back on Friday, Seneca Valley's Ethan Malachi West, received an offer from Lafayette College. West also has offers from schools such as Army West Point, Colgate, Richmond, Duquesne, and New Hampshire.

11. This past Thursday, Pine-Richland Wide Receiver Eli Jochem received an offer from Slippery Rock University.
