It is interesting to find people with the same name as famous celebrities. I wrote an article, months ago, about how there was a student at Quaker Valley named Antonio Brown, who just graduated in 2019. Yes, he has the same name as former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver, Antonio Brown. Quaker Valley graduate, Antonio Brown, played basketball and soccer during his time in high school. He won a WPIAL soccer championship in his sophomore year (2016) and a PIAA soccer championship in his junior year (2017).

Sometimes, I seem to be a little late when it comes to finding information. Just recently, I discovered that there is a student at Franklin Regional, named Bryce Harper, who plays on the school's varsity baseball team. I thought that was very ironic! If you did not know, there is a professional baseball player named Bryce Harper that plays for the Philadelphia Phillies. So, the fact that Franklin Regional's Bryce Harper plays the same sport and has the same name as the professional baseball player, Bryce Harper, is such a coincidence.

Franklin Regional's Bryce Harper will be a senior in the fall. This past WPIAL baseball season, 2019, he helped Franklin Regional win a section title, and was named WPIAL CLASS 5A Section 1 1st Team All-Section. His primary position in baseball is catcher while his secondary position is third base. He can throw and bat a baseball with his right hand.

Right before Harper started his sophomore year of high school, summer 2017, he verbally committed to play NCAA Division 1 baseball at Virginia Tech.

I could only imagine the amount of times that Franklin Regional's Bryce Harper has had to tell people his name and explain how he plays baseball just like the

professional baseball player, Bryce Harper.

Right before Harper graduates from Franklin Regional in June 2020, he will look to help the team win a WPIAL baseball championship. In his junior season, 2019, Franklin Regional's baseball team was win short of appearing in the WPIAL 5A baseball championship game as they lost to Laurel Highlands in the third round of the WPIAL 5A baseball playoffs by a score of 4-1. In Harper's sophomore season, 2018, Franklin Regional's baseball team lost in the second round of the WPIAL baseball playoffs to North Hills (2018 WPIAL 5A Baseball Champions) by a score of 7-1. Also, in Harper's freshman year, 2017, Franklin Regional's baseball team lost in the second round of the WPIAL baseball playoffs to West Allegheny by a score of 4-1.

Did you happen to notice that the three WPIAL playoff baseball games that Franklin Regional has lost in the past three years they have only scored 1 run? I found that to be very interesting.

Anyway, Harper has won some WPIAL playoff baseball games in his high school career. But there is no doubt that he wants to bring a WPIAL baseball championship to Franklin Regional before he graduates.
